INTERGENERATIONAL MINISTRY
Whole-Parish Engagement
Whole-Parish Engagement
Most youth and young adult ministries focus on relationship building among peers within the same age group. Yet a key indicator of a healthy, vibrant and inviting Orthodox parish is a genuine closeness between the older and younger community members. How can we intentionally encourage these intergenerational relationships to develop and flourish?
In this session led by our speaker, Presbytera Anna Kallis, we will explore why whole-parish engagement is foundational to thriving parish life, gain insight into the depth of experience it offers to all members of the community and discover why deep intergenerational relationships directly correlate with parish health. We will then look at potential avenues and best practices for cultivating intergenerational ministries and relationships based both on research as well as the success stories of our Telos parishes. Finally, Anna will introduce you to the “Telos Design Process”, a design thinking process developed specifically for ministries that will equip you to discover and implement the best ways for your unique parish context to facilitate intergenerational ministries and relationships.
